# Book of Hours [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [MINIATURIST, French]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Manuscript ## Commentary Books of hours begin with a calendar in which the twelve months are illustrated in superbly illuminated manuscripts with coloured miniature scenes showing the labours of the months.
