## Commentary

The painting collection of Augustus I, the Strong was placed in the reconstructed old equerry of the Jüdenhof in 1731, seen on the right of the picture. Under Augustus II, ascended to throne in 1733, the picture gallery became world famous. Bellotto depicts the prince elector in his state coach approaching the entrance to the gallery.
