# Pulpit \(detail\) [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [BRUNELLESCHI, Filippo]() - Date: 1401-1450 - Technique: Marble ## Commentary The internal pulpit in Santa Maria Novella is attributed to Filippo Brunelleschi and Andrea Cavalcante di Lazzaro, called Il Buggiano, who was Brunelleschi's natural son, adopted in 1419.
