# Virgin and Child [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [PISANO, Andrea]() - Date: 1301-1350 - Technique: Marble with traces of gilding, height 33 cm \(without base\) ## Commentary The attribution of this small statue to Pisano is based upon a comparison with his bronze reliefs for the Baptistery doors in Florence, fully documented examples of his work. A large body of other statues and reliefs that were unquestionably produced in Andrea's workshop survive.
