# Monument to Benedetto Pesaro \(detail\) [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [BREGNO, Lorenzo]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Marble ## Commentary Monument to Benedetto Pesaro \(detail\) c. 1510 Marble Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, Venice During the 1510s Lorenzo Bregno produced the statues for various funerary monuments in Venice, including that of Benedetto Pesaro \(Santa Maria dei Frari; the figure of Mars is by the Tuscan artist Baccio da Montelupo\), as well as those of Bartolomeo Bragadin \(Santi Giovanni e Paolo\) and Lorenzo Gabriel, Bishop of Bergamo \(Museum für angewandte Kunst, Vienna\).
