# King David [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [PISANO, Nino]() - Date: 1351-1400 - Technique: Marble ## Commentary Nino Pisano carried out his first works in the Cathedral Works of Florence under his father's influence. Among the sculptures for the campanile, which were executed from 1334, the following can be attributed to him: the reliefs of Jubal, Medicina, Phoroneus, Theatrica, Architectura on the lower level of the socle; Mercury and Venus on the upper level; and, from 1337 when Andrea was Master of the Cathedral Works, the four life-size statues of King David, the Erythraean and Tiburtine Sibyls, and a Prophet \(Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, Florence\).
