# Gerhard Morell, Keeper of the Royal Danish Kunstkammer [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [WAHL, Johann Salomon]() - Date: 1701-1750 - Technique: Oil on canvas, 78 x 63 cm ## Commentary Johann Salomon Wahl was curator of the Royal Danish Kunstkammer and a practicing artist. In the present painting he has portrayed his successor, Gerhard Morell. Wahl had imposed a certain degree of order upon the old-fashioned "kunstkammer" \(cabinet of curiosities/art display\).
