# Prudence [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [ROBBIA, Andrea della]() - Date: 1451-1500 - Technique: Glazed terracotta, diameter 165 cm ## Commentary Prudence c. 1475 Glazed terracotta, diameter 165 cm Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York Its large scale and brilliant colours indicate that this roundel of Prudence was designed to be visible from a distance. It was probably intended to be part of a ceiling or wall decoration.
