# Presentation to Vittorio Emanuele of the Roman Plebiscite [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [MACCARI, Cesare]() - Date: 1851-1900 - Technique: Fresco ## Commentary Additions were made to the interior of the Palazzo Pubblico in the 19th century that, to mirror a Siena that was now part of a unified Italy, tried to link the emblem of the "good governor" of the Republic with that of the Savoyard king in the Sala del Risorgimento.
