## Commentary

The Rehlinger family was the second wealthiest patrician family of Augsburg. The family resources came from land ownership and trade. Throughout the 1520s and 1530s, several members of the Rehlinger family served as city mayor. The anonymous painter of this panel is referred to as the Master LS.
