# Emperor Francis I [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [MEYTENS, Martin van, II]() - Date: 1701-1750 - Technique: Oil on canvas, 95,5 x 77 cm ## Commentary Martin van Meytens as a court painter had the permanent task of painting the portraits of the Emperor and the Queen, as well as of the various members of the imperial family.
