## Commentary

Landscape with Dido and Aeneas 1769 Oil on canvas, 138 x 194 cm The Hermitage, St. Petersburg Thomas Jones, the Welsh painter produced this Classical landscape. The figures were painted by John Hamilton Mortimer.
