# Monument for the Heart of Anne de Bretagne [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [UNKNOWN GOLDSMITH, French]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Gold, enamel, height 15 cm ## Commentary Before her death at Blois \(January 9, 1514\), Queen Anne de Bretagne requested that her heart be placed in the sepulcher of her parents in the Carmelite church in Nantes, where she had built a tomb for them.
