# Man of Sorrows with Hands Bound [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [DÜRER, Albrecht]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Drypoint, 117 x 75 mm ## Commentary The measurements are similar to those of the Engraved Passion, but the suggestion that this drypoint may have been intended as its frontispiece is not convincing. It is considered to be Dürer's earliest drypoint, simple in composition, small in size and timid in treatment. Even in good impressions it is a little pale. This is the only one of Dürer's three drypoints with both a date and a monogram.
