# Madonna and Child [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [ROBBIA, Luca della]() - Date: 1451-1500 - Technique: Glazed terracotta ## Commentary This Madonna, with the splendid frame in Luca's unmistakeable style, is a typical work of the artist. In the flowing garment, vaguely reminiscent of Ghiberti and in keeping with Luca's serene vision, and in the secure sense of form, it is very much Renaissance work.
