## Commentary

Master Honoré from Amiens was the most highly regarded Parisian manuscript artists of the years around 1300. By 1296 he was in the employ of the king. This manuscript contains a purchase note that &#39;In the year 1288 I bought the present decretals from Honoré the illuminator dwelling at Paris...&#39;
