# Coastal Landscape [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [MANGLARD, Adrien]() - Date: 1701-1750 - Technique: Oil on canvas, 55 x 120 cm ## Commentary This painting, depicting a coastal landscape with a ship and figures on the shore, is a characteristic work by the French marine painter Adrien Manglard. Manglard is principally known to us today as a painter of marines and landscapes, though the sources clearly inform us that he also executed a large number of religious works.
