# Capital [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [MEDIEVAL SCULPTOR, French]() - Date: 1001-1050 - Technique: Stone ## Commentary The picture shows a historiated capital, representing the martyrs, from the upper level of the tower-porch of the Abbaye de Fleury in Saint-Benoit-sur-Loire. This monument is exceptional for the series of capitals decorating it.
