## Commentary

Adoration of the Child c. 1483 Oil on wood, 96 x 71 cm Galleria degli Uffizi, Florence In this Adoration of the Child Lippi shows a grace in the definition of form that is already more vibrant and almost morbid compared to the linearism of Botticelli. The style is delicate and lyrical, still devoid of the Leonardesque chiaroscuro that Lippi would acquire later on. Already, however, the glimpse of a landscape on the left of the painting betrays an almost Flemish interest in nature and its irresistible appeal.
