# Rescue of Young King Pyrrhus [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [POUSSIN, Nicolas]() - Date: 1601-1650 - Technique: Oil on canvas, 116 x 160 cm ## Commentary Poussin here illustrates an episode from the childhood of the Greek king Pyrrhus, a scene not previously treated in painting.
