## Commentary

This monumental and powerfully modeled figure of a musician tuning a lute can be linked stylistically with Bartolomeo &lt;A onclick=&#34;return OpenOther\(&#39;/html/m/manfredi/luteplay.html&#39;\)&#34; HREF=&#34;/html/m/manfredi/luteplay.html&#34;&gt;Manfredi&#39;s work,&lt;/A&gt; strongly suggesting that it was executed towards the end of Rombouts short stay in Rome.
