## Commentary

This work is one of a set of tapestries representing the Continents. It was designed by Lodewijk van Schoor; the cartoon was made by Lodewijk van Schoor \(figures\) and Pieter Spierincx \(1635-1711, background\). It was woven in Brussels in an undetermined workshop.
