# Mystical Marriage of St Catherine [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [BECCAFUMI, Domenico]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Oil on canvas, 220 x 205 cm ## Commentary Mystical Marriage of St Catherine c. 1521 Oil on canvas, 220 x 205 cm The Hermitage, St. Petersburg The painter, printmaker, and sculptor Domenico Beccafumi was, alongside Sodoma, Siena's leading artist in the first half of the fifteenth century, with important public and private commissions in his home town and only occasionally elsewhere.
