## Commentary

The painting shows a lady, seated three-quarter length, wearing a blue classical dress with a white chemise and a yellow satin shawl, in a landscape setting with a sculpture of ceres and a tapestry. It is signed and dated centre right: P: VR. Werff. fecit./ ANNO.1705.
