The Bestiary includes excerpts of the Pantheologus of Peter of Cornwall \(also known as Peter of Aldgate\), prior of Christchurch, Aldgate \(1197-1221\). It was made for a librarian of the Benedictine abbey at Rochester. The codex is decorated with 55 framed miniatures in colours and gold.
