# Portrait of Francesco I de' Medici [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [BRONZINO, Agnolo]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Tempera on wood, 58,5 x 41,5 cm ## Commentary First son of Cosimo I dei Medici and Eleonora di Toledo, Francesco \(Florence 1541-1587\) succeeded his father to the throne in 1574 and became the second Grand Duke of Tuscany.
