## Commentary

This Rococo painting can be compared with &lt;a onclick=&#34;return OpenOther\(&#39;/html/b/bernini/gianlore/sculptur/1640/therese1.html&#39;\)&#34; href=&#34;/html/b/bernini/gianlore/sculptur/1640/therese1.html&#34;&gt;Bernini&#39;s sculpture&lt;/A&gt; of the same subject in the Santa Maria della Vittoria in Rome. Bazzani also presents the religiously overheated soul with unmistakably erotic content only slightly less overtly than the sculptor.
