# Interior [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [ARCHITECT, French]() - Date: 1251-1300 - Technique: Photo ## Commentary The High Gothic Orléans Cathedral was destroyed by the Huguenots in 1568. Of the original building only the radiating chapels, the exterior walls of the side aisles of the choir, and two full-height nave bays are preserved today. The church was rebuilt in the 17th century, keeping faithfully to the character of the remaining bays of the Late Gothic. The photo shows the nave.
