## Commentary

Crucifixion c. 1500 Tempera on canvas transferred from wood, 85 x 67,3 cm Szépmûvészeti Múzeum, Budapest The painting is one of the eight panels of an altarpiece by the Budapest Master: The Betrayal of Christ, The Crucifixion, the Lamentation and two Holy Bishops in Budapest, the Annunciation, the Last Supper and Ascencion in different private collections. The background of the Crucifixion is of Franco-Flemish character the castle in its center symbolizes Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
