## Commentary

In 1780-84 Cameron redecorated the formerly Rococo halls of the main Catherine Palace built by Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli in the 1750s; what started as a modest remodeling soon resulted in the most lavish interiors of the whole palace. The photo shows the Arabesque Room in the Catherine Palace. The room was restored in 2010.
