# Adoration of the Child [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [BOTTICELLI, Sandro]() - Date: 1451-1500 - Technique: Pen shaded with brown, white heeightening and pink wash, 161 x 258 mm ## Commentary Adoration of the Child c. 1495 Pen shaded with brown, white heeightening and pink wash, 161 x 258 mm Galleria degli Uffizi, Florence The lively kicking child between the melancholy Joseph and adoring Mary is, at first sight, closely related in its motifs to the fresco of the <A onclick="return OpenOther\('/html/b/botticel/21/4birth.html'\)" HREF="/html/b/botticel/21/4birth.html">Nativity</A> dating from the 1470s.
