## Commentary

St Jerome in a Landscape c. 1595 Engraving, completed by pen, brush, brown ink, 246 x 174 mm Szépmûvészeti Múzeum, Budapest The saint and the lion is executed in engraving, while the landscape surrounding them is rendered in pen and brush. This is a rarely found combination of techniques. The draughtsman of the landscape is Jan Brueghel the Elder.
