# General view [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [NOBILE, Pietro]() - Date: 1801-1850 - Technique: Photo ## Commentary The temple is built after the antique Thesaion in Athens and was the first building in Vienna to be used exclusively as a museum: <a onclick="return OpenOther\('/html/c/canova/2/6theseu.html'\)" href="/html/c/canova/2/6theseu.html">Antonio Canova's Theseus Fighting the Centaurs</a> was originally exhibited here.
