# Exterior view [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [ARCHITECT, Spanish]() - Date: 1151-1200 - Technique: Photo ## Commentary The church of Santo Domingo was built in the late 12th century above a pre-existing church. It was partially renovated in the following centuries. The west wall of the church is dominated by a double row of arcades, almost ornamental in character, and is broken up in the centre by a large recessed entrance featuring a large number of columns.
