Portrait of Matvei Platov 1814 Oil on canvas, 91 x 72 cm The Hermitage, St. Petersburg Count Matvei Ivanovich Platov \(1757-1818\) was a Russian general who commanded the Don Cossacks in the Napoleonic wars.
