# Interior view [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [CÖLLEN, Henrik]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Photo ## Commentary The large Hall of State, with its painted ceiling and its full-figure portrait of Gustav Vasa and his contemporary European rulers, gives a good idea of what Gripsholm Castle would have felt like at this time. The most famous 16th century room in the castle, and one of Sweden's best preserved interiors from the period, is the Duke Charles Chamber.
