# Madonna and Child Enthroned with Saints [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [LIPPI, Fra Filippo]() - Date: 1401-1450 - Technique: Panel, 44 x 34 cm ## Commentary Madonna and Child Enthroned with Saints c. 1430 Panel, 44 x 34 cm Museo della Collegiata, Empoli This small panel picture also has claim to being an early independent painting by Lippi and reflects impulses from Masaccio's style. It has the effect of a triptych with the central unit devoted to the Madonna and Child and two musical angels, much like the Pisa Altarpiece, with standing saints on either side.
