## Commentary

This early panel by Matteo di Giovanni is a devotional image enriched with gold. The inscription in the upper centre on the Madonna&#39;s halo reads: REGINA CELI LETA\[RE ALLELUIA\] \(O Queen of Heaven, rejoice!\)
