## Commentary

The picture belongs to the Contarini Collection. Once again, Longhi proved his perfect taste in the way he blends the colour harmonies. The painting centres around the contrast between the professionally smooth gestures of the tailor who is showing off the costly fabric and the lady who almost seems bewildered.
