# Ceiling decoration \(detail\) [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [GIOVANNI DA SAN GIOVANNI]() - Date: 1601-1650 - Technique: Fresco ## Commentary The picture shows part of the fresco decoration in the Room of Giovanni da San Giovanni. The frescoes were commissioned for the marriage in 1635 between the Grand Duke Fernando II de' Medici and Vittoria della Rovere.
