# The Martyrdom of St Lucy [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [UNKNOWN MASTER, Netherlandish]() - Date: 1451-1500 - Technique: Oil on panel, 133 x 102 cm ## Commentary The Martyrdom of St Lucy c. 1500 Oil on panel, 133 x 102 cm Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam This panel and a Deposition \(formerly in Berlin, lost in World War II\) formed one wing of an altarpiece. The two sides were separated in the 19th century. The anonymous artist is referred to as Master of the Figdor Deposition after the Figdor Collection in Vienna which had the panel before passing to the Museum in Berlin.
