# Landscape with Wild Beasts [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [SAVERY, Roelandt]() - Date: 1601-1650 - Technique: Oil on wood, 35 x 49 cm ## Commentary Landscape with Wild Beasts c. 1629 Oil on wood, 35 x 49 cm Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna Savery was a Flemish painter of landscapes, animals and flowers, trained in Amsterdam. He worked in Prague and Vienna in the sevice of Emperors Rudolf II and Mathias, but later settled in Utrecht. This painting shows Savery at his best.
