## Commentary

This drawing was created by the so-called Master of the Housebook a decade before Dürer&#39;s The Walk. There are a large number of such gallant genre scenes that were drawn by his hand. Dürer may have seen them in the original during the years he spent traveling, and been directly influenced by them.
