## Commentary

Portrait of Sylvie de la Rue c. 1810 Oil on canvas, 120,5 x 89,5 cm Groeninge Museum, Bruges Van der Donckt was a local painter in Bruges, who was a skilled pastel painter. The shown oil painting represents the niece of the painter, the future wife of Joseph Odevaere, another Bruges painter.
