# The Straw Hat [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [RUBENS, Peter Paul]() - Date: 1601-1650 - Technique: Oil on wood, 79 x 55 cm ## Commentary The sitter of the picture is probably Susanna Lundent, the sister of Helene Fourment, the second wife of Rubens. The title of the painting is "Straw hat" \(Le chapeau de paille\) from the 17th century, although the hat is not a straw hat.
