## Commentary

The polyptych, executed by Pietro Alemanno, a painter of Austrian origin and pupil of Carlo Crivelli, consists of the following panels: Virgin and Child enthroned \(lower centre, 178 x 91 cm\), Christ Resurrected \(upper centre, 121 x 91 cm\), Sts Sebastian, Francis, Bernardino of Siena, and Louis of Toulouse \(lower side panels, 157 x 47 cm each\), Sts Peter \(upper left, 107 x 47 cm\), John the Baptist \(upper left, 91 x 47 cm\), Anthony of Padua \(upper right, 99 x 47 cm\), and Jerome \(upper right, 95 x 47 cm\). This altarpiece comes from the Monastero di San Francesco in Cagli \(Pesaro\).
