## Commentary

The Resurrection c. 1445 Tempera and gold on wood, 37 x 46 cm Institute of Arts, Detroit This painting is one of five Passion panels from the predella of an unidentified altarpiece. In the Resurrection scene, similarly to the Descent to Limbo scene, a use of deepest flat black recurs, the silhouetted hill rising to a dark tower.
