## Commentary

Alexander Colyn of Mechelen was a pupil of Meit, brought the decorative manner of the Flemish Renaissance to Heidelberg. Heidelberg was the capital of the humanist Otto Heinrich, whose palace was ornamented with sturdy caryatids and allegories.
