## Commentary

Connecting to the Sala del Concilio is the private apartment of the cardinal, bedchamber \(Camera dell&#39;Aurora\), dressing room \(Stanza dei Lanifici\), and study \(Stanza della Solitudine\). The general theme of the decoration in the Camera dell&#39;Aurora is related to Night, as a fitting subject for a bedchamber. Zuccaro painted an illusionistic opening of the ceiling through which the sky at daybreak can be seen with several allegoric figures \(Aurora, Night, Sleep, Death, Moon, Mercury\).
