## Commentary

The verso of the sheet was executed a few years earlier than the Study for a Portrait of a Youth on the recto and is one of several drawings for the &lt;a onclick=&#34;return OpenOther\(&#39;/html/p/pontormo/2poggio/1poggio1.html&#39;\)&#34; href=&#34;/html/p/pontormo/2poggio/1poggio1.html&#34;&gt;figure with a basket in Pontormo&#39;s Vertumnus and Pomona&lt;/a&gt; for Poggio a Caiano.
